Located in Manchester’s vibrant Northern Quarter is a magical studio called The Urban Mermaid belonging to Deborah “China” Hodgkiss. Studio 21, up the stairs of the Craft & Design Centre, is full to bursting with Faerie folk in all shapes and sizes, handmade in ceramic by the Urban Mermaid herself. The pretty faeries, mermaids, dragons, pixies are all individual and utterly charming. Visitors can also see the fantastic selection of Tangleheads tiaras, also made by China.
