The Gypsy Nomads CD Giveaway

May 31st, 2010

Regulars on the US faerie festival circuit, The Gypsy Nomads play a toe tapping blend of gypsy punk folk tinged with cabaret, tribal beats and good old-fashioned bawdy storytelling. The duo consists of French born Brit Samantha Stephenson and veteran punk Scott Helland, aka Frenchy and the Punk. Since 2005 they have toured extensively, and 2010 is no exception with a countrywide US tour which sees them play Faerieworlds, World of Faeries festival and Faeriecon (amongst many others!). Their new album Happy Madness is out July 13th and is their 4th album to date. As you’d expect, it is an upbeat collection of songs which showcase Samantha’s wonderful voice and Scott’s excellent guitar work. They’re ridiculously catchy, even after just one listen I was humming them all day long. Dark Carnivale and Vaudeville Voodoo are for me the real stand outs (as in, the ones I have been humming most!), but the whole thing is exceedingly well played and produced.
We have a signed copy of Happy Madness to give away to one lucky reader. To enter, leave a comment. Just for fun, please share your favourite Gypsy Nomads song.
Please ensure you use a valid email address, and one entry per person thank you! All entries must be received by July 1st.
Good luck!

I’ve been a gypsy of sorts over here in the USA ~ and I love (and miss) the gypsy nomad life. I never run out of stories to tell my grandchildren from my nomad life style and I would be honored to hear your music!!

I wish I had a favorite Gypsy Nomad song, sadly I don’t because I’ve never had the pleasure of listening to you :)

    Bright Blessings to all ~

Your music sounds great, I have to say I haven’t heard any of the Gypsy Nomands before. The song titles sound intriging though.

I have known Scott and Sam for a long time and all of their music is just fantastic! If I had to choose a certain one, I couldn’t because they are all my favorites…LOL. You never know what to expect from them and each CD is better and better. I miss them very much and try to see them when they are in my area. My son loves “The Ogre Dance” which is a real toe tapper for him. I hope that the Gypsy Nomads will be around for a long time and become a household name.

    Bright Blessings!

This is the first I have heard of this band, but it appears as though they make the music I have wished for all my life. I would be just giddy to hear what they sound like!

ONE favorite? You jest. But if I had to choose one I would say that I visit the Carnival more often lately.

Caught their show at Spoutwood Fairie Festaival and have not been able to get their songs out of my head since. My favorite is probably OH, Gypsy.

The Gypsy Nomads are cool! Excuse me now, while I check to see what is causing this “Happy Madness” that is all around us! :)

Sadly, I do not have a favorite Gypsy Nomad song because I’ve never heard of The Gypsy Nomads before, but I am always open to new music! I would love to listen to the CD. It sounds like something I’d enjoy. (Although, I must confess, I find nearly all music very inspiring!)

And so, sadly, I do not have a favorite Gypsy Nomad song.

I’d love to win your cd! I have your other one…..listen to it in my car all the time. I don’t know the name of my favorite song off there (as I’m always in the car, not reading the cd jacket) but it’s the one that is about the girl who goes to the gypsy to find out if she will find a man – and then the gypsy and the girl fall in love!

I want to say it’s called “oh gypsy” but….I’m not positive!

  15. Cheryl Lyons on June 15, 2010 8:34 pm

    Oh Gypsy…Oh Sexy : D

I absolutely love their music. Whether it be a song with lyrics or is an instrumental piece, it is all good. I cannot pick one song that is my favorite as they are all superb. If they come to a town near you, go and see them. You will not be disappointed.

    Blessings to you all!

I’ve seen and heard The Gypsy Nomads at local festivals but have greatly enjoyed listening to them. I have been unable to find any cd’s so I can’t name my favorite song. They’re awesome, though and I’d LOVE to have at least one of their cd’s!

  20. Jodi Davis on June 28, 2010 3:10 pm

The Gypsy Nomads is a great band and I would love to win their new CD.

  21. Christina on June 28, 2010 3:55 pm

Yay! I love the Gypsy Nomads. I got to see them live at Spoutwood this year!

  22. Sig and Lilith on June 28, 2010 4:37 pm

Jolly fine band and musicosounds from those twoodle songsters known collectively as the Gypsy Frenchie and the Punk Nomad. Damned fine thing to see it included on the site for the Faenationsey type wee folk.
Fave track…. Well I suppose ‘Make out’ is stupenderously extraperfectralicious, extremely bouncy and a jolly ‘on yer foots get up and dance’ choon…. N’that.
