Avalon Faery Ball Ticket Giveaway!
The Faeries are returning to mystical Glastonbury once again for the Avalon Faery Ball this Halloween. Dance the night away to Wendy Rule and The Dolmen, wearing your finest faery attire. The veils are thin at this time of year, so who knows just who may be dancing along with you?!
The ball takes place on the evening of October 30th, while during the day a fabulous faery fayre is to be held on both the 30th and 31st. Tickets for the Ball are £20, while entry to the fayre is free.
Promoters Love & Light have generously donated a pair of tickets for the ball. To be in with a chance of winning just leave a comment on this post.

Not long now until the faery clans gather in Celtic Cornwall for this summer’s 3 Wishes Faery Fest. It is our favourite faerie event of the year, and 2010’s show looks set to be absolutely enchanting. Performing this year are Woodland, Priscilla Hernandez, Brocc, Maple Bee, The Dolmen, and many more. Guest artists include Linda Ravenscroft, Myrea Pettit, Marc Potts, Kelly Martinez, Julia Jeffrey and Tamara Newman. There are also wandering performers, the excellent faerie market, fashion show, workshops, and this year there will be a special sunrise ritual on Monday 21st June to celebrate Midsummer.

Chris Down will be having an exhibition of his fantasy art at the Moontree Gallery in Boscombe from 29th May until 24th June 2010. There will be a wide variety of framed pictures, originals, limited edition prints and open edition prints. Chris’ work comprises painted, pencil, pen and ink and has appeared in over 40 books. Among those are his Celtic and Fantasy titles in the Crafters Design Library series which have been published in English, American, French, German, Russian and Chinese editions gaining his work an international audience. Launch day for the exhibition is Saturday 29th May and Chris will be there all day from 10am until 5.30pm.

The latest issue of The Magical Times is available. Faery fanciers will find lots of articles to interest them – Peter Pracownik talks about the Green Man, there is an exclusive interview with Mediaeval Baebes founder Katherine Blake, art by faery songstress Priscilla Hernadez, Judy Mastrangelo and Sue Miller, and fashion from Senjo and Solstice Clothes, who provide handmade fair-trade clothing for ‘Free spirits, Urban Pixies and Wild City Faeries’!
Also this Easter weekend the faeries will be flying down to the lovely city of Canterbury for the Magical Faerie Festival. The event takes place over Saturday, Sunday and Monday and includes live music, workshops and stalls.
The Faerie Wing Shoppe
Based in the UK, The Faerie Wing Shoppe offers lovely realistic wings and other faerie finery, including circlets and dainty flower-adorned shoes. The wings are hand made with ‘love and magic’ and can be created in whatever colours or sizes you wish. Their construction means you can slide the frame down a tight fitting top and forego straps, giving the appearance of the wings really sprouting from your back.
Sarah Duxbury, the wing creator, has also organised a Faerie Ball, the first gathering in the North of England for faerie folk. The event takes place on May 1st in Lancashire, and includes a day time market and evening ball with meal and entertainment. We’re very excited to be going along to join in the revelries!
