Glen Rock Fae Documentary
Film maker Kevin Spahr is hard at work creating a documentary, Glen Rock Fae, which tells the story of the annual Spoutwood Fairie Festival. The first trailer is up online and you can follow the creative process on their blog. The hope is to have the film released in time for Spoutwood’s 20th anniversary festival in 2011.

Not long now until the faery clans gather in Celtic Cornwall for this summer’s 3 Wishes Faery Fest. It is our favourite faerie event of the year, and 2010′s show looks set to be absolutely enchanting. Performing this year are Woodland, Priscilla Hernandez, Brocc, Maple Bee, The Dolmen, and many more. Guest artists include Linda Ravenscroft, Myrea Pettit, Marc Potts, Kelly Martinez, Julia Jeffrey and Tamara Newman. There are also wandering performers, the excellent faerie market, fashion show, workshops, and this year there will be a special sunrise ritual on Monday 21st June to celebrate Midsummer.

Chris Down will be having an exhibition of his fantasy art at the Moontree Gallery in Boscombe from 29th May until 24th June 2010. There will be a wide variety of framed pictures, originals, limited edition prints and open edition prints. Chris’ work comprises painted, pencil, pen and ink and has appeared in over 40 books. Among those are his Celtic and Fantasy titles in the Crafters Design Library series which have been published in English, American, French, German, Russian and Chinese editions gaining his work an international audience. Launch day for the exhibition is Saturday 29th May and Chris will be there all day from 10am until 5.30pm.

Based in the UK, The Faerie Wing Shoppe offers lovely realistic wings and other faerie finery, including circlets and dainty flower-adorned shoes. The wings are hand made with ‘love and magic’ and can be created in whatever colours or sizes you wish. Their construction means you can slide the frame down a tight fitting top and forego straps, giving the appearance of the wings really sprouting from your back.
Sarah Duxbury, the wing creator, has also organised a Faerie Ball, the first gathering in the North of England for faerie folk. The event takes place on May 1st in Lancashire, and includes a day time market and evening ball with meal and entertainment. We’re very excited to be going along to join in the revelries!
3 Wishes Faery Fest 2010
Here are Fae Nation HQ we’re already getting excited about this summer’s 3 Wishes Faery Fest!
The venue is once again Colliford Lake Park on beautiful Bodmin Moor, and the event takes place over June 18th – 20th, with a special Midsummer Solstice ritual on the morning of the 21st.
Music and guests confirmed so far include the mythic band Woodland; ethereal songstress Priscilla Hernandez; former Mediaeval Baebe Maple Bee; artists Myrea Pettit, Courtney Davis, Josephine Wall, and Linda Ravenscroft; and wandering performers Kwalilox and the Seelie Court Faerie Theatre, plus more are being added all the time. The festival also incorporates an excellent faerie market, fashion show and workshops for both adults and children.
Earlybird tickets are on sale now at the special price of £75 for all three days, including camping. Hurry though, this offer is only open until January 31st – after this tickets are £89. There are also weekend and day tickets available, and children under 12 go FREE!

3 Wishes Faery Fest Drawing Near!
We’re eagerly dusting off the wings and putting the final touches to our finest Faerie ensembles in preparation for 3 Wishes Faery Fest, which is now just a month away! Beyond doubt, this is our favourite event of the year and we are looking forward once more to the gathering of the Faerie Clan on Cornwall’s Bodmin Moor this June 19th – 21st.
This year’s highlights include the début UK performance of Demonia Nymphe, plus performances by The Dolmen, Faeries Wear Boots, Brocc and many more! There will be some of the UK’s most talented Faerie artists in attendance, and lots of wandering entertainers, stalls and workshops to suit all ages.
Tickets are on sale now – weekend tickets include camping on-site, or you can opt to stay in the Faerie village in a luxury yurt!
Stéphane Lord: Away With the Faeries
Canadian photographer Stéphane Lord has a selection of work on show from February 21st at Montreal’s Café L’étranger. The exhibtion runs until March 20th. If you can’t make it I highly recommend a visit to his website, Dark Fairies. If you are not familiar with Stéphane’s gorgeous photography you are in for a treat: faeries and angels inspired by pre-Raphaelite art and the Gothic underground.

Santa Rosa Fairy Folk Festival
The Fairy Folk Festival at Youth Park, Santa Rosa (USA) on September 27th is a family friendly event which aims to bring the Faerie and Human Realms a little closer together. The festival, which is now in its third year, features music, storytelling, crafts, activities, workshops and more. Tickets are $15 for adults, $25 for couples and children under 13 get in free.
