Hellboy II

Here at Fae Nation we are getting very excited about the release of Hellboy II, due to hit the cinemas this Summer. Directed by Guillermo Del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth) Hellboy II is the sequel to 2004’s Hellboy, and sees the eponymous kitten-loving anti-hero back to save the world from Prince Nuada and his Otherworldly army, after the ancient truce between humankind and the unseen world is broken. The elves are angry, the trolls are marauding, and the tooth faeries are terrifying, and there is worse to come!
Visit the official Hellboy II site to see the trailer.

Dinner by David Tarleton

Dinner by David Tarleton

I couldn’t let the Halloween season pass by with out a little spookiness, so here is an excellent short film by David Tarleton entitled ‘Dinner‘.
After the destruction of the old woods in Europe, the trolls, witches, fairies and goblins had nowhere left to go. Thus they did what so many others had done before them: they moved to Los Angeles. Jack, a goth fairy tale fetishist, falls in love with Jill, the daughter of the Russian cannibalistic witch, Baba Yaga. He must enter Baba Yaga’s hut to face impossible quests, hideous monsters, a convenience store troll and even a junkie fairy to win his girlfriend’s hand in marriage.

Fairy Caught On Film?

You need to a flashplayer enabled browser to view this YouTube video

This is a curious little snippet of film doing the rounds on YouTube at the moment. It shows a walk through the trees of Clapham Woods in Sussex, filmed using Night Vision. All fairly uneventful until the last few seconds when something small and apparently winged flits in front of the lens. It is only visible for a moment, but it does look remarkably Faerie-like.
