Magical Oddities Holiday Ornaments

December 5th, 2011

We love these cute Christmas decorations from Magical Oddities. Each clear glass bauble has a dinky hand made Sugar Plum or Holly faery inside. They would look lovely hanging from a lit tree to add a little faery sparkle this holiday season.

Key Muses Wallpaper

November 18th, 2011

Wallpaper manufacturers Graham and Brown present the Key Muses wallpaper, by iconic Dutch designer Marcel Wanders. The chocolate flocked faeries look splendid against a dark silvery background and would make a stunning statement in any interior. Or how about the baroque Forest Muses design, also by Marcel Wanders, for a lush fairy tale room?

There are a huge range of styles available based on different flowers and leaves including orchids, lettuce, tulips and iris. Magical Mushroom Rug

January 27th, 2010

I just adore this cute ‘grass’ rug from Vertbaudet, decorated with tiny 3D toadstools. Perfect for adding a little faerie magic to your home (and not just children’s rooms either!). I do think they have missed a trick by not putting the toadstools in a ring around the edge however!
Also from the same retailer is a gorgeous mushroom and elf duvet set (sadly only in cot bed size) and some sweet spotty bedlinen.

Who’s the Fairest of Them All?

June 11th, 2009

What fantasy boudoir could possibly be complete without this gorgeous fairy tale mirror from Anthropologie? Cast in brass and standing 14 inches tall it is just perfect for the fairiest of dressing tables. As a finishing touch, stand it on a wooden chest of drawers adorned with these delicate willow twig handles, also from Anthropologie.

There are quite a few other faerie friendly finds on the Anthropologie site too, including the pretty Serene cup and saucer, and for you, quite possibly the sparkliest of snail rings and the lovely leafy Lady Fern sandals.

The Art of Agelio Batle

July 30th, 2008

By Agelio Batle

I love the idea of the artist’s tool reinvented as art, as seen in the amazing creations of San Francisco sculptor Agelio Batle. His graphite drawing tools take their forms from the natural world, and include antlers, twigs, flowers, leaves and shells. Each piece can be used to draw and write but thanks to the unique casting process they will not smudge onto your hands as you use them.
