A graduate of the Rietveld academy in Holland, Cederic Laquiez has a fascination for natural materials and aesthetic shapes. His amazing flower fairies are made with insect parts and bones. There is also some splendid fairy armour made for Cedric’s graduation show, which was inspired by A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Their pieces are sometimes functional and others purely decorative, but all imbued with a real sense of spirit. They also work in clay to create sculptural vessels and figurines. They travel to numerous fairs in the US and further afield where you can see their work in person.

Simon Sinkinson chronicles the creative efforts of the Faeries and their Tiny Doors hidden in the grounds of grand gardens and on the edges of highways. But is isn’t just doors you need to keep an eye out for, swimming pools, bridges and even ships have been spotted. If it makes you a little sad that the tiny doors are really too tiny for humans, you’ll be pleased to find that Simon makes gorgeous follies in people sizes too.

Hand crafted by Michelle Van Fleet these stunning faery seats are created using crystals, copper and natural elements. Michelle’s experiences as an artist and shaman have culminated in these unique artworks which act as portal to the faerie realm, bringing their own specific energies and inviting the faerie or deva to live in harmony with the seat’s human caretaker. Speaking about her work, Michelle says “These works are my gesture to the realm of faery and the world of human, that we may receive and imbibe the sacred knowledge of nature, healing our souls and uplifting our hearts in the doing. Nestled in the lush rainforest of Marysville, Australia, is the home of sculptor and painter Bruno Torfs. Bruno has created a magical world in his garden, populated by fantastical figures sculpted by Bruno himself. The garden was a popular tourist attraction but sadly the bushfires that devastated so much of the area in 2009 also destroyed Bruno’s home and garden. Despite this, the desire to share his life’s passion remains strong and the gardens are now reopen and Bruno is steadily creating new works to replace those lost in the fires. A book and DVD are available to buy which tells the story of the garden as it was and as it is now after the rebuilding, filled with beautiful photography and paintings.
