Angie Hill

Angie Hill is the artist behind Arwen Renaissance Photography, specialising in living history, portrait and fantasy. It is hard to believe Angie took her first photo only a few years ago, after prompting by her wedding photographer husband to ‘get into’ something they could do together. That first photo, a portrait of her daughter as a sleeping fairy, was entered into a fantasy themed competition and won 4th place – and Angie has been behind the camera ever since. Her love of fantasy and history stems from childhood, but it was her husband who first introduced Angie to Renaissance Faires. “I will never forget it, I really was thinking it would be so stupid, but we got there, waited in line, and when the gates opened, the bagpipers were playing, two knights on huge horses rode by and I began jumping up and down and crying. That year the faire became my home, the one place on earth I feel like I just fit.” The Arwen Renaissance Photography website was launched to showcase the images, under the motto: “Keeping History and Legend Alive”, and people soon began asking to buy prints and hire Angie’s services as a photographer. Although based in Maryland, Angie will travel Worldwide to capture people and events. Angie is now combining the things she loves with a growing business, and has much more in store for Arwen Renaissance Photography in the near future.
